"For many years, I was isolated, feeling depressed and lacking confidence to feel part of my local community. I had tried rehabilitation with my local authority using a white cane but still lacked confidence. I then met Ramona who encouraged me to use my cane beside hers which made me feel more secure. Ramona then taught me how to use the trains, listening to the sounds of the train tracks so that I am able to identify when the train is in the tunnel or changing tracks. Ramona also taught me how to engage with railway staff on the tube and trains. I was eventually able to travel independently on the train to Cambridge, across the railway network and around London on the underground."
